Illustration Masterclass 2010

IMC 2010
Beauty and the BeastFirst I would like to say that the IMC has been an invaluable experience. I've been describing it to my coworkers as the most that I've grown artistically.... all in a week setting!

So many factors came into play for this illustration:

-1st oil illustration
-Stepping out of my digital safety barrier
-1st time shooting reference for an illustration
-6 days of work time
- attacking my fears of rendering metal and flesh tones accurately
- specifically designing a composition for book format
- combining Sci-Fi book aesthetics with game design made for a young adult audience

Thank you to all my peers, co-workers, family and faculty that made this class so rich with meaning. It was a humbling and inspiring journey, that I hope to partake in years to come!

Below are some progress shots and my final Illustration!
